Trunk or Treat

Our ward had a Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat on Saturday night. Julene organized a lot of it because she helped turn it into a fundraiser for our insolvent Cub Scouts. She and the Cub Scouts provided a cheap hot dog dinner, desserts and a silent cake auction. In total, the Cubs were able to raise about $800. Way to go, Julene!

The following are the Ballards' costumes for the Trunk or Treat.

Allyse as Hannah Montana.

Benjamin in the kitty costume that is older than me.
Brad as a tourist (camera case hidden by kitty).

Angelina as Dora the Explorer (she would not wear the wig).
Julene as a witch (she did wear the wig).

Joseph as Harry Potter.
Josh was a Dementor from Harry Potter (but they cannot be photographed).

Labor Day

The family gathered again at the cabin at Mt. Charleston. Angelina was my little helper and she wanted to carry my camera case for me. She and I played in a tunnel for a while.

Later, we did the Little Falls hike. Angelina walked most of the way by herself.

This was Benjamin's first trip up to Little Falls. He slept most of the way up and he only woke up seconds before we stuck a camera in his face.

Angelina is finally getting to the point that she can walk around in the rocks and rough terrain without hurting herself. She had a great time playing outside this time around.

Joseph, Joshua, Allyse and Ethan had fun posing for pictures. I think they also played a little bit.

Memorial Day

For some unknown reason, I didn't take any photos this Memorial Day. Perhaps it was because the cold weather forced us inside. I don't know. We didn't even take the traditional Little Falls hike due to the inclement weather. However, thanks to my brother, Blake, who took the photos in this post, the day did not go unrecorded.

Angelina was hanging out on the porch.

She seems to have enjoyed Uncle Blake taking her picture.

Joseph forgot to bring a jacket on perhaps the coldest Memorial Day in memory.

I found my Uncle Jon's old jacket bomber jacket in a closet at the cabin. The jacket is older than I am. Joseph looked like he didn't want to wear it, but after I called it an Indiana Jones jacket, we almost couldn't get him to leave the jacket at the cabin when we left to return to Las Vegas.

Benjamin wasn't so sure about the guy taking his picture.

Then, he looked up to daddy to make sure it was okay.

Obviously, he got the reassurance that he needed.

She finally cracked a smile.
